What One Cosplayer Did to Get Yondu’s Jacket Just Right

Cosplayers sometimes go to extreme, tedious lengths to ensure a costume is precise and matches its inspiration. Since costume designers for television and film don’t necessarily use off the rack fabric, it can mean modification and taking a Frankenstein-like approach to replicating materials. That’s what Dragon Workshop did for their Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Yondu cosplay. They spent over 20 hours getting the foil-print fabric right and then additional time sewing it all together.

One of the question we’ve got asked very often, is: How #yondu ’s jacket is done and where we bought that fabric. So here is a small overview of the details! 😃 First of all: That special fabric was not simply bought somewhere, it’s a special foil-print. A printing shop made that printed foils with that “0“ pattern according to our expectation and then Tina had to “clean“ that foils. All parts that shouldn’t get printed, had to be removed. That took about 20 hours. After that the foils got finally printed to the fabric (it’s a common cotton fabric) and than at last everything was ready for sewing.
