A Raccoon Costume Pattern Becomes Totoro

Redditor CaptGarfield shared a picture of a costume he made for his daughter, and it shows how you can use creativity to modify an existing pattern and color outside the lines. He modified a raccoon pattern — Simplicity pattern 1351 — and turned it into a cute Totoro outfit (from Studio Ghibli’s My Neighbor Totoro) for his kid’s Halloween costume. It was his first time sewing, and he nailed it. Keep these kind of twists in mind as you start planning costumes for yourself and younglings.
