Note down on your agendas: on September 19th and 20th, the National University of Singapore will host the Design Law Reform Conference at its Bukit Timah Campus.

With a fantastic faculty of presenters, this conference will discuss the current state of play of design protection at national and international levels. The programme is divided into six sessions, among others, Challenges of Designs embodying a technical function, discussing functionality exclusions, protection of spare parts, utility models and of modular products; and The relationship between registered and unregistered rights discussing the role of unregistered rights, grace periods and claiming rights. During the conference there will also be the launch of the book International Intellectual Property and the ASEAN Way: Pathways to Interoperability by Elizabeth Siew-Kuan Ng and Graeme W. Austin.
The conference is also part of a larger research project focused on design protection.
