New Tutorial! Using CAM in Fusion 360 for Engraving

I learned a lot about the engraving operation in this week’s project. Seems like every time I come back to CNC milling there’s something new to learn. The CAM workspace in Fusion 360 is a universe all in it’s own. There’s several methods of applying the engraving operation to stock – You don’t even need an actual solid body, all you need profiles via a sketch.

Probably one of the most important tips (if you’re milling onto a piece of acrylic) is to mill artwork “mirrored”. In my tests, the surface that is engraved is not as visually “punchy” when edge lit. The opposite side of the acrylic (clear surface that doesn’t have the engraving) appears much more vivid when it is edge lit.
