Protecting innovation & privacy for @MIT students @MITstudents @adafruit
Thank you MIT community for inviting me to chat with you at HACK MIT this weekend – an event where the MIT community celebrates making & hacking. And I love it! I wouldn’t be working & innovating here in my open source hardware factory if it were not for the making, hacking and open culture that MIT students are so well known for.
I want to help the next generation of students who want to hack on software, hardware, medicine, aeronautics, and more.
So! I’d like to extend an offer to MIT students: if you, in your capacity as a student researcher at MIT, are asked by a company to sign a document or contract agreement *OR* if you are asked to fill out a survey with personal information that could be used against you if you answer honestly – and it isn’t 100% documented what the information is to be used for – I will pay for my legal counsel to review it for you.

The BU/MIT Technology & Cyberlaw Clinic is a pro bono service for students at MIT and BU who seek legal assistance with their innovation-related academic and extracurricular activities. Boston University School of Law students, under attorney supervision, provide counseling and representation to students with their academic- and innovation-related projects, activities, experiments, and ventures
