UPDATED GUIDE: Animated Eyes on Raspberry Pi
Creepier and creepier!
Our Animated Snake Eyes Bonnet guide was originally written for a Raspberry Pi accessory we make and sell, an interface for two tiny screens and some analog controls. A new addition to the tutorial and software “untethers” this — if you don’t need the analog controls and have an HDMI display (or two), the code works fine on any Raspberry Pi computer, no Bonnet required. (See the “Using Just the Software” page.)
We’ve been having a blast with the Gakken WorldEye — a 10-inch hemispherical HDMI display from Japan. These take some work to track down…a bit spendy, must be imported, and the warranty is automatically void outside the country, so you’re SOL if it’s DOA. But the code can work equally well with any HDMI display, or a video projector…or two, with the addition of an HDMI splitter.
Halloween just keeps getting better.
