The Making of Hela’s Headdress in Thor: Ragnarok
One of the many impressive costume pieces in Thor: Ragnarok was Hela’s massive headdress. At least in some shots of the film, it’s a completely practical piece. Norman Chan from Tested caught up with Ironhead Studio, the makers of the Hela headdress, at DesignerCon to discuss the making of the massive helm. Obviously, getting the weight right was of the utmost importance because it had to be wearable. Ironhead Studio scanned Cate Blanchett and then 3D modeled the piece to fit her before 3D printing the headdress. Learn more in the above video.
