Video on the Classic Charles & Ray Eames Exhibit ‘Mathematica: A World of Numbers… and Beyond’
If you’ve never seen the Charles and Ray Eames exhibit Mathematica it’s totally worth checking out – I mean how many math exhibits can you name that have their own Wikipedia article?!? The article mentions “duplicates” of the original exhibit are out there, including one at the Henry Ford in Detroit, who made the video below. (There’s also a version of the exhibit at New York’s NYSCI in Flushing Meadows-Corona Park.) The video from The Henry Ford shows some features of the exhibit, but it does a really good job telling the exhibit – notably how you don’t see a lot of ‘numbers’ at the exhibit, but rather how numbers operate (and yeah there’s a bunch of text, poetry, and documentation along the way – the timeline is my absolute favorite part of the exhibit!).
