FeatherWing Proto – Prototyping Add-on: A Feather board without ambition is a Feather board without FeatherWings!

This is the FeatherWing Proto – a prototyping add-on for all Feather boards. Using our Feather Stacking Headers or Feather Female Headers you can connect a FeatherWing on top or bottom of your Feather board and let the board take flight!

This has a duplicate breakout for each pin on a Feather, as well as a bunch of plain grid proto holes. For GND and 3.3V, we give you a strip of connected pads. There’s plenty of room for buttons, indicator LEDs, or anything for your portable project. The FeatherWing Proto makes an ideal partner for any of our Feather boards.

FeatherWing OLED – 128×32 Add-on: This is the FeatherWing OLED: it adds a 128×32 monochrome OLED plus 3 user buttons to any Feather main board. Using our Feather Stacking Headers or Feather Female Headers you can connect a FeatherWing on top of your Feather board and let the board take flight!

These displays are small, only about 1″ diagonal, but very readable due to the high contrast of an OLED display. This screen is made of 128×32 individual white OLED pixels and because the display makes its own light, no backlight is required. This reduces the power required to run the OLED and is why the display has such high contrast; we really like this miniature display for its crispness! We also toss on a reset button and three mini tactile buttons called A B and C so you can add a mini user interface to your feather.

Adafruit Music Maker FeatherWing: Bend all audio files to your will with the Adafruit Music Maker FeatherWing! It’s a fun-size version of our Music Maker shield for Arduino! This powerful wing features the VS1053, an encoding/decoding (codec) chip that can decode a wide variety of audio formats such as MP3, AAC, Ogg Vorbis, WMA, MIDI, FLAC, WAV (PCM and ADPCM). You can do all sorts of stuff with the audio as well such as adjusting bass, treble, and volume digitally.

All this functionality is implemented in a light-weight SPI interface so that any Feather Board can play audio from an SD card. There’s also a special MIDI mode that you can boot the chip into that will read ‘classic’ 31250Kbaud MIDI data from the UART TX pin and act like a synth/drum machine – there are dozens of built-in drum and sample effects!

What a great musical add-on to your Feather! That’s why we spun up this super FeatherWing, perfect for use with any of our Feather Boards! Music playback testing working with ATmega32u4, ATSAMD M0, ESP8266, WICED Teensy 3, and nRF52 Feathers. MIDI playback works with all Feathers but you may need to remove the ‘Wing during programming and also for USB-Serial Feathers like the ESP8266 and nRF52 you’ll end up re-using the main Serial console for MIDI which can be confusing.

DC Motor + Stepper FeatherWing Add-on: This is the DC Motor + Stepper FeatherWing which will let you use 2 x bi-polar stepper motors or 4 x brushed DC motors (or 1 stepper and 2 DC motors). Using our Feather Stacking Headers or Feather Female Headers you can connect a FeatherWing on top or bottom of your Feather board and let the board take flight!

The original Adafruit Motorshield Kit is one of our most beloved kits, which is why we decided to squish it all together on a FeatherWing to make something even smaller, lighter, and more portable! Instead of using a latch and the Arduino’s PWM pins, we have a fully-dedicated PWM driver chip onboard. This chip handles all the motor and speed controls over I2C.

Since the FeatherWing only uses the I2C (SDA & SCL pins), it works with any and all Feathers. You can stack it with any other FeatherWing or with itself (just make sure you have each wing with a unique I2C address)

Adafruit Ultimate GPS Featherwing: Give your Feather a sense of place, with an Ultimate GPS FeatherWing. In 2013 we designed the Ultimate GPS module to satisfy all your GPS desires – and now we have brought its power and versatility plus more to our Feather series with the Adafruit Ultimate GPS FeatherWing! This FeatherWing plugs right into your Feather board and gives it a precise, sensitive, and low power GPS module for location identifcation anywhere in the world. As a bonus, the GPS can also keep track of time once it is synced with the satellites.

Works with all Feathers except for those with USB-Serial converters that use the UART pins. Right now that means the ESP8266 Huzzah Feather and nRF52 Feather don’t work
