The “Social Economic & Financial Benefits from Commercialization of Innovation” event will take place on 11 December 2017 at Cyberport in Hong Kong. The event is organized by the International IP Commercialization Council and all the proceeds are for charity. Some of the speakers are Nick Yang, Carl Schramm, Judge Randall Rader, Michael Chan, Lu Lin Chaim and Fred Sheu. More information, here

Free webinar “How to Effectively Deal with Counterfeits in Thailand” with Franck Fougere, managing partner of Ananda Intellectual Property. The webinar, organized by the South-East Asia IPR SME Helpdesk, will take place on 19 December 2017. As indicated by its title, it will discuss how to pursue counterfeit items in Thailand. On 22 November, the Makara Innovation Fund (MIF) in Singapore announced the investment of $70 million in MyRepublic, one of the fastest TelcoTech companies. As readers might recall, the launch of MIF was in April this year and more details in this regard were provided in the interview with Mr. Daren Tang (here), Chief Executive of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore. 

The IP Statistics for Decision Makers (IPSDM) 2017 conference took place last 14 November in Mexico City. The event was co-organized by the North American IP offices (CIPO, IMPI, USPTO) and the OECD.
