#SustainableLuxury’s voice has just got louder thanks to a collaboration between Ai Build and Bottletop.  Working on a project together, they have brought us the world’s first 3D printed store located at 84 Regent St in London.

Ai Build is a London based company developing Artificial Intelligence and Robotic technologies to make manufacturing easier, smarter and more affordable. The BottletopFashion Company was founded in 2012 by Oliver Wayman and Cameron Saul to identify new sustainable materials and techniques that align with their philosophy.

Created by robots using up-cycled plastic, the Bottletop store launched in November 2017. It showcases products designed with the finest sustainably sourced materials. The interior of the 3D-printed store was created using filament from Reflow, which according to Digital Trends is an “ink” provider whose filament is entirely upcycled from plastic waste.  “What is so special about 3D printing is that it opens up the possibility to control precisely where every single drop of material will be placed to form a physical object,” Daghan Cam, Ai Build’s co-founder and CEO, told Digital Trends. “That basically means that the material is deposited only where it needs to be, [in contrast] to conventional subtractive manufacturing methods which can be extremely wasteful.”
