Incredible ‘Light-Up Ping Pong Ball Suit’ with 850 Addressable LEDs | #WearableWednesday #wearables @wearespin

This suit is the work of San Francisco-based maker Tom Sepe who created the incredible wearable for “the original ping pong social club” SPiN in San Francisco. Video embeds of it in action below.

Tom writes,

It’s complete and delivered! woot! Here is the Light-Up Ping Pong Ball Suit I just built for SPiN in SF.

850 individually addressable RGB LEDs, controlled via WiFi, and powered by lithium ion batteries.

Stephanie Haber rang me up, thanks to Shawn Cunningham and asked me to make a cool thing… so I’ve been working my ass off getting this thing done in a little over 2 weeks!

Couldn’t have done it without some excellent support:

Shoutouts to:
Christopher Schardt for his amazing software, LEDlab and for his tech support.

Dallas Swindle for tons of hands-on help, a warm space to work and great technical expertise.

Aaron Lyon for excellent sewing skills

Clifford Florio for last minute ping pong ball attachment prowess

Jon Sarriugarte for having just the right tools at just the right moment

Phil ‘Peef’ Sadow for electrical wizardry

And huge hugs to Megan Murray Jones for all her support.
