Mega Man X Cosplay Knows It’s Time to Get Serious

When you cosplay, you can turn yourself into anything, including a robot. Redditor galacticspidey chose to become Mega Man. He used, you guessed it, EVA foam to make the armor. Though it’s a common supply and I often cover how the material is utilized for cosplay, I’m continually impressed. In this case, look at the curved shapes he was able to get with the foam. The metallic, weathered paint brings it all together. To achieve the depth and textures, galacticspidey layered different kinds of paint and black shoe polish. He says:

The main two colors were rustoleum metallic blue spray and then a lighter blue spray paint. All of the silver areas were hand painted with silver model paint. I also used the model paint on the edges to look like scratches. After that I used black shoe polish on the edges and in the crevices to create the dirty look and add more depth.
