By the time I discovered this scarf project by caitlinsdad on Twitter, he was already working on the next iteration. The question is whether the motivation came from his daughter or the exciting code he found called Meteor Rain! The original project he posted on Instructables was a Falling Meteor Scarf, borrowing from the past success (and parts) of the maker’s Neopixel Fire and Ice Wings. An Adafruit Flora microcontroller triggers LED strips to stream chunky drops of light in the spirit of menacing meteorites. The NASA logo is a nice touch, especially since I recently learned the space agency once had a Meteor Counter app.
With a tweak of code and the magic of felt, caitlinsdad transformed this accessory to an Ecto Scarf for Ghostbuster lovers. Colorful blobs of light rain inside the fabric showing the full spectrum of Neopixels. Even the tips of the scarf get a makeover, making this a switchable style ready for any day of the week.
