Calls for Papers

The Tilburg Institute for Law, Technology and Society is organizing a PhD Colloquium, “Regulating new technologies in uncertain times”, which will take place at Tilburg University on 14 June 2018. The organisers invite PhD researchers to submit an abstract of maximum 300 words by 28 February 2018. Submission logistics are available here.

The European Policy for Intellectual Property Association has announced its 13th Annual Conference in Berlin on 5-7 September 2018, with a special focus on IP in a data-driven economy: New challenges for law, economics and social sciences. Scholars from all disciplines and practitioners interested in the economic, managerial, legal and political aspects of intellectual property rights are all invited to submit their papers until  31 March 2018.

Events

The 37th ECTA Annual Conference, entitled “Gods in Transit: IP at the Crossroads of Great Civilizations” will take place in Athens on 13-15 June 2018. Kat Eleonora Rosati will be among the presenters on an EU Copyright Reform panel. Agenda and registration information may be found here.

UCL Institute of Brand and Innovation Law is offering a two-day CPD course for lawyers and company executives working with IP, media, public figures, privacy, confidential information and managing third parties’ personal data. The course is entitled, “Privacy online and offline: Data, the personal and the public interest”, and will be held on 26-27 February 2018. Speaker line-up and topics are here.

Enredados, a newly launched online network for IP policymakers, academics and practitioners, invites to a talk and preview of a film by Valdimar Tr. Hafstein (Professor in the Department of Folklore, Ethnology, and Museum Studies, University of Iceland).  Entitled “Copyrighting Tradition, and the Flight of the Condor: Lecture and Film on Intangible Heritage and Intellectual Property”, the event will take place on 28 March 2018 at Coventry University London Campus. CeBIL has announced a Kick-Off Conference, “Innovation Gaps on Life Science Frontiers? From Antimicrobial Resistance & the Bad Bugs to New Uses, AI & the Black Box”. Leading international experts will discuss legal, economic, societal and scientific aspects of selected Life Science areas.
