PrimeBook | low-cost laptop that runs Android-based PrimeOS | Priyank Gada
When you think of Android you probably think of smartphones, or maybe tablets, watches, or TVs. But over the past few years, we’ve seen a couple different companies attempt to turn Google’s mobile operating system into something you can comfortably run on a desktop.
We also had something known as Remix OS which was a high-profile attempt, but its pretty dead old. Now an Indian startup is up with another Android-based operating system called PrimeOS with a device called the Primebook, The device is a notebook powered by RK3288 rock chip processor.

Like RemixOS, primeOS comes with a taskbar, desktop-like start menu-style app launcher and supports multi-window mode to run applications and games in resizable windows. One special feature is the feature that allows us to map any key using the keymapping tool that helps you to play touchscreen games using a keyboard.
Primebook doesn't have any fancy touchscreen stuff but looks classy something like a normal Chromebook. It also comes with some custom applications for educating students including a video lecture player that lets the student take notes or create video bookmarks while watching a video and a Prime eBook reader that can open normal PDF and EPUB ebook formats.
PrimeOS is Android Nougat based and is developed only for x86 and ARM-based processors but developers are already working on updating it to Android Oreo. I ( Priyank Gada) will try to get a copy of PrimeBook and review it personally to test the look and feel of the operating system on their own platform.
