Oppo's All New Find X - Edge-to-Edge Display

Yes, its the all hyped oppo find X, the phone with a camera that pops out of the body is expected to be priced at around $1,150. The pricing was announced at the tail end of Oppo's lavish reveal event that was held at Paris.

Prior to the Find X launch, Oppo phones were restricted to China, India and other Asian countries. This newer model, which features an edge-to-edge display, is oppo's attempt to compete with the top-tier handset makers like Apple and Samsung. Its most newer feature is a pop-up camera in place of a front-facing camera module which is usually fitted inside a display notch.

It's a controversial choice, given that it may make the phone prone to technical issues due to dust or water damage and is definitely something new to see. Just like the Vivo Nex, it claims to work fine in the test. Oppo is also launching a Lamborghini edition of the Find X for about $1,961 with an engraved logo and superior fast charging capabilities.

My Thoughts

Here are my thoughts on the mechanism, even though Oppo claims that the camera can slide in just 0.5 seconds, but to be taking pictures and sliding it out every time you use the front or the back camera is kind of risky. The company claims that it has tested the popup mechanism's durability for up to 50,000 popups but still dust and water are not good for moving parts and in past, we have seen phones with moving parts to wear out quicker as compared to a stable phone.
