Voice Controlled Digital Fireplace with @RaspberryPi, #AdafruitIO, and #GoogleHome
Want to make your house more cozy using the Internet of Things? How about connecting your fireplace to the internet? Paula Pectu did just that this past Sunday. To turn the fireplace on, she uses the command “Okay Google, turn the fireplace on” and her Google Home replies with the state of the fireplace and switches it on.
Her setup consists of a Raspberry Pi connected to the fireplace using a relay. The state of the relay is controlled by Adafruit IO, which is linked to IFTTT’s Google Assistant applet.
