Adafruit Music Roundup

Here’s a little bit of a recap of some of the music editorial we’ve been working on here at Adafruit Music. We wanted to use this opportunity to highlight some of  the things you might have missed. Plus, it gives us a nice excuse to share a bunch of songs we love too. We’re currently working on the following features:

MUSICMAKERS:

In the MusicMakers Q&A series, we’ve been talking to some of our favourite artists about their recording set-up, creative spaces, technology and lots more. The goal of these mini-interviews has been to mix practical information and education with inspiration and the understanding that you too can make and share great art. Some of the artists we’ve been able to speak to include Deerful, Bedbug, Say Sue Me, Daisy Edwards, Okin Osan, Pearl Crush, plus:

TRACKTALK:

With TrackTalk, we’ve had fun talking to artists like Trust Fund, Shay Spence and Haiku Salut as they take us behind the scenes of a new song of theirs.  In these posts, the artists detail the writing, recording and production of the song. Everything from lyrics, themes and intentions to recording, mastering and distribution.

ADAFRUIT ARTIST SPOTLIGHT:

The Adafruit Artist Spotlight is another recent feature in which we’ve been highlighting some of our wonderfully talented colleagues at Adafruit who make their own music. We’ve been lucky enough to share the talents of Dean MillerBartlebeats and Scatta.

TASTEMAKERS:

In the new TasteMakers feature we’ve been speaking to some of our favourite independent music blogs, podcasts, etc.  The Grey Estates, Various Small Flames and Stories About Music have all given us some terrific insight into running a DIY music company and staying motivated and creative in an industry that’s rife with burnout and frustration. These have all been really nice so far. If you’re hyped to discover some music you’ve not heard before, I’d recommend visiting these pages.
