Hexchat 2.14.2 Release, Install on Ubuntu / Linux Mint (Platpak)


HexChat is an easy to use yet extensible IRC Client. It allows you to securely join multiple networks and talk to users privately or in channels using a customizable interface. You can even transfer files.

HexChat supports features such as: DCC, SASL, proxies, spellcheck, alerts, logging, custom themes, and Python/Perl scripts.

Install Flatpak on Ubuntu Linux Flatform :

The official Flatpak PPA is the recommended way to install Flatpak. To install it, run the following in a terminal:
 $ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:alexlarsson/flatpak
$ sudo apt update
$ sudo apt install flatpak 
The Flatpak plugin for the Software app makes it possible to install apps without needing the command line. To install, run:
$ sudo apt install gnome-software-plugin-flatpak
Add the Flathub repository
Flathub is the best place to get Flatpak apps. To enable it, run:
flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo

Install Hexchat 2.14.2 on Ubuntu / Linux Mint :

Make sure to follow the setup guide before installing
flatpak install flathub io.github.Hexchat



Run this command on terminal or you can open hexchat on ubuntu dashboard menu :
flatpak run io.github.Hexchat
$ flatpak run org.gimp.GIMP
