Skeletony and the Halloween Doorbell of Doooooom 2.0

Conor O’Neill on his blog writes about using two C.H.I.P. tiny single board computers to automate his Halloween:

The initial setup for the Doorbell was dead simple. A push-to-make button connected to a GPIO on the C.H.I.P which caused some code to randomly play out various MP3 files over the audio-out to some big speakers cunningly hidden near the door.

This year I thought “I’ll add a simple LCD message to guide people”. Then I thought I’d use my Adafruit OLED screen. Luckily most of the code I needed was out there and it was case of a few evenings of tying it all together.

Check out the entire build on the blog – great work!
