Trump claims Google is rigging search results against him
United States President Donald Trump has accused Google of rigging its search result to show only "Fake News Media" in order to spread negative stories about him. He called it "a very serious situation” that “will be addressed” very soon.
Mr. President took tweeted his frustration on early Tuesday and claims that social media company are bias against him. "Google search results for "Trump News" shows only the viewing/reporting of Fake New Media. In other words, they have it RIGGED, for me & others, so that almost all stories & news is BAD. Fake CNN is prominent."
" Republican/Conservative & Fair Media is shut out. Illegal? 96% of results on "Trump News" are from National Left-Wing Media, very dangerous. Google & others are suppressing voices of Conservatives and hiding information and news that is good. They are controlling what we can & cannot see. This is a very serious situation-will be addressed!"
But around 11 a.m. ET, he deleted the original tweets and tweeted another set of identical ones.
However, the company has refuted the allegations against them, and said that politics does not play any role in the search result, rather than the complex algorithms are the reason for the search result.
In a statement released by Google on Tuesday said: "When users type queries into the Google Search bar, our goal is to make sure they receive the most relevant answers in a matter of seconds."
"Search is not used to set a political agenda and we don’t bias our results toward any political ideology. Every year, we issue hundreds of improvements to our algorithms to ensure they surface high-quality content in response to users’ queries.
"We continually work to improve Google Search and we never rank search results to manipulate political sentiment."
This is not the first time when Mr. President has attacked the tech giant about biases, he has accused the firms of suppressing bad news about others.
