‘6 Easy Steps’ to Go from Prototype to Design for Manufacturing with @dragoninnovate | @mfgday #MFGDay18

Dragon Innovation’s Andrew Hall has a quick roundup of the 6-step process to go from concept to full DFM – their blog proper is succinct and to the point with each step in the blog accompanied by offsite links with additional reading or viewing (see video below). These blogs are always really useful for reminding yourself of not only the stages to consider in your manufacturing process but frankly to remind yourself of the iterations other designers & manufacturers also go through (to develop a quality product).

To prototype properly you’ll need focus, help from friends and definitely creativity. Every product innovator has their own process but we here at Dragon Innovation have a simplified approach to get started on your path to manufacturing your consumer electronic product.

This approach is simple. Bust out the duct tape, popsicle sticks and an Arduino. This is a Proof of concept prototype cobbled together for feasibility with limited functionality.
