After-Hours Día de Muertos Party:
Celebrate Día de Muertos, Oaxacan-style, at the Museum. Join us for a Mexican verbena featuring a night full of traditional Oaxacan food, drinks, and music, as well exclusive access to the Day of the Dead Altar installation dedicated to extinct animal species in the Hall of Biodiversity.
Performances for the evening include Mexican beats by DJ PUMA (CDMX), a special poetry jam-style performance of traditional literary calavera poems by Nuyorican Poets Café artists, and a live set by Oaxacan singer Geo Meneses.
Family friendly cultural program:
Immerse yourself in the traditions of Día de Muertos in this family-friendly, full-day festival featuring altars dedicated to extinct animal species, performances by Mexican folk musicians and dance troupes, hands-on artisanal and scientific workshops, and a craft marketplace.
