Russian hackers stole fuel using a virus and earned more than 10 million rubles


Khabarovsk: Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Khabarovsk region detained 13 employees of one of the companies engaged in retail and wholesale of petroleum products.

Employees of Gas station were suspected of stealing fuel using a malicious computer program. During the search, the accomplices found more than 10 million rubles and foreign currencies.

As it turned out, the hackers introduced the virus into the control system of gas stations. This allowed hackers to steal part of the product purchased by customers. Later it was resold to third parties.

The management of the company reported suspicions to the police. The Security Service of the company informed them about the shortage of fuel.

"The shortage was not less than 5 percent of the paid volume of oil products", - said the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Wolk.

A criminal case of theft was opened. Ten people are under a subscription on their own recognizance, one is under house arrest, two are in custody.
