The Leonids
This shower has been going on all month, with its peak being this past weekend, according to The New York Times. But the Leonids will be continuing through November 30, and they’re putting on some of their most fantastic displays since 2002. The Leonids often produce what is called a storm, as its comet Tempel-Tuttle passes through our inner atmosphere, creating literally thousands of meteors, but no storms are anticipated this year
The Geminids
It begins December 4, peaks around the 14, and comes to a close on December 17, if that helps you plan your holiday party around meteor viewing. The shower can best be seen at about 2am, whatever your local time, according to Space.com
