Musixmatch is a platform for users to search and share lyrics. It is the largest platform of this kind in the world. It is accessible via the web and mobile apps for iOS and Android devices. Musixmatch displays lyrics synchronised with music being played.

DIY/Do It Yourself: Upgrade to the Latest Release

Requirements 7-Zip, NPP/Notepad++ or other text editor, PortableApps.com Launcher Generator/PAL, PortableApps.com Installer/PAI.

1. Get the latest portable app. template, and extract the content with 7-Zip.
2. Get the latest Musixmatch release.
3. Put it in the same folder as the extracted template, in our example C:\0TEST, then open the installer with 7-Zip,
   browse into musixmatch-[version]-full.nupkg\lib\ then extract "net45" folder to MusixmatchPortable\App folder,
   
4. Browse into MusixmatchPortable\App, rename "net45" to "Musixmatch".
5. Browse into App\Musixmatch → search for "*.exe" → delete:
   • Musixmatch_ExecutionStub.exe,
   • WMPRemoteStandalone.vshost.exe
   
   
6. Right-click on Musixmatch.exe → Properties → "Details" tab, and lookup the version,
   
7. Browse to MusixmatchPortable\App\AppInfo and open appinfo.ini file with NPP. Replace the [Version] section with the latest version number. Make sure the PackageVersion entry is in 4 place digit, eg. 0.21.4.0 not just 0.21.4,

8. Run PAL, paste the template folder address C:\0TEST\MusixmatchPortable, and click Go—a new launcher will be created,
   
9. Test the new launchers by following this guide.
10. When all is OK, then delete the MusixmatchPortable\Data folder and run PAI, paste the package folder address C:\0TEST\MusixmatchPortable, and click Go—to create the installer package.
    
11. Use the installer package to upgrade your portable application. Don't forget to at least backup your Data folder before any upgrade :)
12. If you find any changes that's not handled by the launcher, consult the PAL help file to modify the launcher yourself or ask for our paid upgrade support.

Portability Notes

• Musixmatch do not have portable mode. It writes non essential data to Windows registry and stores its settings in Windows data folder while running.
• Make sure it exits cleanly before plugging out your thumbdrive.
• You can help by sending request to the official developer to add "portable mode" to their future release.
