The ATECC608A is a cryptographic co-processor with secure hardware-based key storage from Microchip – it can store your keys or certificates so you don’t have to worry about plaintext data or people reverse engineering your firmware. It supports SHA-256, HMAC and AES-128 algorithms which can offload computation from your main chip. This breakout will be a great addition to our Arduino and CircuitPython boards, could also be useful for SBC like Raspberry Pi if you want to keep a secret off of the SD card.
