In the framework of the Intellectual Property Law research seminar series 2019, the CCLFR and the University of Reading will host, on 30 January 2019, 14:00-15:00, Palmer 102, Dr Enrico Bonadio (City, University of London) with the seminar “Restricting the Use of Brands to protect Health: The Latest Developments”. On 13 February 2019, Rt. Hon. Sir Robin Jacob, from the Faculty of Law at UCL and Richard Vary, partner in the Bird&Bird’s Intellectual Property Practice and Tech and Comms Group will present Unwired Planet v Huawei: the UK Court of Appeal’s judgment, a webinar on the recent Court of Appeal ruling dealing with relevant questions such as injunction for SEPs and FRAND determination. On 14 February 2019, from 16:30 to 19:00 in Alicante, the European Communities Trade Mark Association will held the round table: “Does function matter more than form? Registrable shapes for 3D trade marks and designs.” The participation is free of charge. More information is available here.

On 14 and 15 March 2019, the most prominent scholars and representatives from the private sector will be gathering in Alicante to talk about Intellectual Property and Artificial Intelligence in the framework of the Congress: "Can robots invent and create? A dialogue between Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property”. The congress includes sessions on the challenges of AI to patents, trade marks, copyright and human rights. The Geneva Internet L@w research colloquium will be held on 21 June 2019 at the Foundation Hardt in Geneva, in the framework of the 6th edition of the Geneva Internet L@w Summer School. The Colloquium, which will give the opportunity to present the work-in-progress to a panel of experienced Internet law experts, addresses to researchers with an established direction of research relevant to Internet law. N.B: Participation in the colloquium is free of charge but submissions are due by 15 April 2019. More information is available here.

As part of the 29th World Congress of the International Association for the Philosophy of Law and Social Philosophy, a call for papers for a special Workshop is organized on the interaction between economic research and legal theory “Legal and Economic Theories of Law: How Can They Help Each Other?” If you are interested in attending the workshop or presenting your research, write to fabrizio.esposito@eui.eu.
