Microsoft Promotes Assistive Technology XAC in Super Bowl Ad

This is an extended version of an advertisement that Microsoft ran during the Super Bowl to promote its Xbox Adaptive Controller (XAC). Not only do the large buttons on the device itself make it easier for users with disabilities to make use of the controller, it has a plethora of jacks and connectors that you can use to plug-in all sorts of buttons, joysticks, foot pedals or other devices that will meet the specialized needs of disabled users.

Here is a video from Bill Binko of ATMakers describing a variety of controllers he developed to demonstrate at the 2019 ATIA conference held this week in Orlando Florida.

Also here is a learning guide by John Park demonstrating how to create specialized controls for the XAC.

As the Microsoft ad explains, “When everybody plays, we all win”.
