Vivo has expanded its smartphone portfolio in India by launching a new entry-level smartphone called the Y90. The device is the most affordable offering from the Chinese vendor, and is expected to expand its market to new users.
Vivo Y90: Price and Availability
The Vivo Y90 is priced at Rs. 6,990 and will be available in Black and Gold color options across all offline partner stores and major e-commerce websites starting July 27. Like all Vivo devices sold in India, the Y90 is also manufactured in the country, at the company’s Greater Noida facility.
Vivo Y90: Specifications and Features
The Y90 features a 6.22-inch Halo FullView HD+ (1520 x 720) display, and is powered by the 12nm MediaTek Helio A22 (MT6761) SoC with a 12nm design. It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, expandable by up to 256GB via a microSD card. The phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box in the form of Funtouch OS 4.5, and rocks a 4,030mAh battery with Vivo’s exclusive smart power management system that the company says allows for long-lasting endurance.
Imaging options include an 8MP f/2.0 rear camera and a 5MP f/1.8 selfie-cam housed within the phone’s teardrop notch up front. Rear camera features include Face Beauty, Professional, Palm Capture, Voice Control, Flash, Video, Time-Lapse, Slow, Time Watermark and Model Watermark, while front camera features include Face Beauty, Palm Capture, Voice Control, Selfie Lighting, Video and Time Watermark.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 2.4GHz, Bluetooth 5, Micro-USB port, GPS, USB OTG and a 3.5mm audiosocket, while on-board sensors include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, digital compass, gyroscope and proximity sensor. The phone comes with facial recognition and, measures 155.11mm x 75.09mm x 8.28mm and, weighs in at 163.5 grams.
