Xiaomi-backed smartwatch maker Huami has steadily been expanding its India portfolio. After launching a lighter and more affordable variant of its Amazfit Bip smartwatch, the company today launched the Amazfit Verge Lite. It’s a cheaper variant of Amazfit Verge that we reviewed earlier this year and brings a lot of features we’ve seen on that watch.
Amazfit Verge Lite: Price and Availability
The Amazfit Verge Lite will retail at a compelling price of Rs 6,999 in India. It comes in 2 color variant namely Shark Grey and Snowcap White with a matching silicone strap. You can head over to Flipkart if you’re interested in buying it.
Amazfit Verge Lite: Specs and Features
Amazfit Verge Lite is a sporty-looking smartwatch made out of reinforced plastic with silicone straps that are easy to remove and replace. It comes in the same form factor. It sports the same 1.3-inch AMOLED touchscreen (360×360 pixels) with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection as its elder sibling.
Verge Lite packs 13 built-in watch-faces (three on device and others can be synced using Mi Fit or Amazfit app) and 11 different activity tracking modes including outdoor running, treadmill, walking, outdoor and indoor cycling, elliptical trainer, and more. There’s also a heart rate sensor on the underside here, which extends continuous tracking and sleep monitoring capabilities. There’s no microphone so you can’t make calls with this watch like the original Amazfit Verge.
One of the key highlights of this smartwatch is touted to be the 20-day battery life. The company has baked a 390mAh battery in the Verge Lite and it could live up to the hype similar to its elder sibling. It comes with IP68 water and dust resistance on board, which means you can walk out in the rain or bathe with this smartwatch on your wrist.
Amazfit Verge Lite also includes GPS+GLONASS for enhanced tracking. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.0 LE and no Wi-Fi, which was present on the standard Verge smartwatch. The software is based on Android and offers you a ton of capabilities, which includes music control, smart notifications, and more. We will explore these in our hands-on review of the Verge Lite really soon.
