Huawei Y9 Prime (2019): Specs and Features
Huawei Y9 Prime (2019) sports a dual-tone finish on the rear panel – akin to the Google Pixel lineup and it looks stunning in the bold colors. There’s a 6.59-inch Full-HD+ LTPS LCD display, with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 84.3% screen-to-body ratio.
This large display here is coupled with a pop-up camera module to offer an immersive fullscreen experience, which Huawei terms Ultra FullView. There’s a noticeable chin as you’ve already seen on most similarly-specced phones, with a tiny top bezel. There’s a physical fingerprint sensor on the rear and no in-display fingerprint sensors on a lot of recent devices.
This smartphone is powered by the Kirin 710F chipset, paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage (expandable up to 1TB using microSD card). The presence of Huawei’s older Kirin 710 chipset onboard is disappointing as the Honor 9X series which should make its way to India later this month will boast the upgraded Kirin 810 chipset.
As for the camera department, Huawei Y9 Prime (2019) is equipped with a triple camera module. It includes a 16MP (f/1.8) primary sensor, coupled with a trendy 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and 2MP depth sensor.
The 16MP (f/2.0) selfie camera sits in the pop-up module, which Huawei says has been tested for 100,000 openings and can withstand up to 15kg of weight. The selfie camera recognizes 8 scenes and optimizes the image in real-time.
It runs the feature-rich EMUI 9.1 ROM based on Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box, with GPU Turbo 2.0 onboard and 4D audio experience for an enhanced gaming experience. It also comes equipped with a 4,000mAh battery via the USB-C port onboard. So, what do you think about Huawei’s first pop-up camera phone in India? Tell us in the comments below.
