Install Subsurface 4.9.3 on Ubuntu and Linux Mint system with PPA
Subsurface is an open source project that provides users with a unique and sophisticated diving log application that’s capable of tracking both single-tank and multi-tank dives using air, TriMix or Nitrox.
The program has been written by Linus Torvalds, the father of the Linux kernel, which is now used on thousands of open source operating systems. He created Subsurface out of frustration with the lack of good divelog applications for the Linux platform.
Features at a glance
The software has been engineered from the ground up to allow users to log the exposure and weights protection used, dive buddies, dive masters, as well as to rate dives and add personal notes for each dive.
Thanks to the built-in GPS support, the program can also track track dive locations. When adding a new dive note, users will be able to input the start time, air temperature, location, coordinates, divemaster, buddy, suit, rating, visibility, tags, and the actual notes.
In addition, you can add detailed information about the equipment used in cylinders and weights, such as type, size, workpress, startpress, endpress, oxygen, and helium. Various statistics are shown on the Stats tab, such as depth, duration, temperature, total time, dives, and SAC.
The Dive Info tab will display a summary of the currently selected dive, such as date, gases used and consumed, maximum and average depth, air pressure and temperature, salinity, dive time, OTU, water temperature, SAC, and interval.
The Subsurface development team proudly announces the release 4.9.3 of Subsurface, an open source dive log and dive planning program for Windows, Mac and Linux.
