Vivo has been on a roll, of late. The Chinese giant has been a pioneer when it comes to innovation in the flagship and upper mid-range segment, but it’s now tackling the lower price segments with some pretty attractive offerings – such as the Vivo Z1 Pro and Vivo Z1x.
The latest addition to Vivo’s budget portfolio comes in the form of Vivo U10, which has launched in today at a starting price of Rs. 8,990. It brings along a capable 600-series Snapdragon chipset, triple cameras, a big battery and more in tow.
Vivo U10: Specs and Features
Vivo U10 is a rebranded Vivo Y3 from China, except for a minor difference under the hood. The Chinese variant of this device was powered by the MediaTek P35 chipset and well, Vivo knows that a device with the chipset won’t work in India. So, it has now been swapped out in favor of the Snapdragon 665 chipset which we’ve already seen on Mi A3 and Realme 5.
This smartphone features a 6.35-inch HD+ IPS LCD Halo FullView display, with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 89% screen-to-body ratio. There is a waterdrop notch up-top, along with a thick chin at the bottom, but I’m not one to complain at its price point. It offers you a physical fingerprint sensor on the rear.
The Snapdragon 655 chipset powering this smartphone is paired with up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The Vivo U10 runs Android 9 Pie-based FunTouchOS 9.1, which packs a number of cool features like Jovi Assistant, Ultra Game mode, (with voice changer and countdown timer) and more.
In the camera department, Vivo U10 features a triple rear-camera module with a 13MP (f/2.2) primary sensor, an 8MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle lens with a 120-degree field-of-view, and a 2MP (f/2.4) depth sensor. You will also find an 8MP selfie sensor housed in Vivo U10’s waterdrop notch.
Vivo U10 comes equipped with a massive 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast-charging. All the essential connectivity options including 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and micro-USB port (a bit disappointing in 2019 but it’s okay for a sub-Rs 10,000 phone).
Price and Availability
Taking on some of the most popular Rs. 10,000 phones such as the Realme 5, Redmi Note 7S, and Mi A3, the Vivo U10 has been priced starting at Rs. 8,990 for the 3GB+32GB base variant. You will have to shell out Rs. 9,990 and Rs. 10,990 for the 3GB+64GB and 4GB+64GB variants respectively.
It will be available in 2 color variants, namely Electric Blue and Thunder Black. Vivo U10 will go on sale during Amazon’s Great Indian Festival, starting from September 29. You’ll also get an additional 10% discount on SBI debit and credit cards, making this phone an even amazing offer at Rs. 8,100 during the sale event. Don’t you think so too?
