It’s impossible to measure the happiness we feel because Godzilla, the one true King of the Monsters, is back in active circulation. He’s a true cultural icon who should be allowed to smash cities and wreck other giant beasts for as long as he wants to. If you’re going to add a Godzilla toy to your collection, you want it to pack some scale, and this Wal-Mart exclusive kaiju toy does just that. Standing a full foot tall, he’ll rampage through your puny toy shelf with impunity. Six points of articulation and an extremely long tail perfect for whipping at his frenzied foes.

Harry Potter Invisibility Cloak
Okay, so this thing won’t actually let you become invisible in the real world – no one geek should have all that power – but it’s a pretty clever little gimmick anyways. One side of the cloak is printed with chromakey green (like they use in special effects filming), and with the aid of a special app you can take shots on your iPhone and merge them with the background so it looks like you’re vanishing in plain sight. Now if only they’d figure out how to make a Time Turner.

In the 80s, animated cartoons were created to promote toy lines all the time, and it was good. But after the glory days of 22 minute commercials faded, it took some time before toy companies got ballsy enough to try again. A modern take on the gimmick is Bakugan, a strange but compelling tabletop skill game that created an anime series to give context to its fantasy world of mystical creatures. The Nerf arms race has been escalating dramatically in recent years, as the company continues to up the ante with more and more devastating foam-shooters. If you’re looking to take out a whole group of office-mates non-lethally, one of the best picks is the Ultra One motorized blaster, which uses the new Nerf Ultra darts that fly farther and straighter than ever, up to 120 feet. The high-capacity dart drum will allow you to squeeze off 25 shots before you reload, plenty to batter your enemies into submission. Unless they also have an Ultra One. The geniuses at LEGO are always looking for new ways to jazz up their kits with modern technology, and their Hidden Side line is the latest. Using a special phone app, the kits let kids play as paranormal investigators spotting ghosts roaming around their builds in augmented reality. It’s a really fun gimmick that adds a layer of play to the classic LEGO experience. The Paranormal Intercept Bus lets ghost hunter Jack Davids and his crew get from scene to scene and also comes with a haunt or two of its own.

Monopoly For Millennials
Hasbro’s really milking the Monopoly franchise right now, busting out customized rulesets and game boards for all kinds of audiences. They haven’t got to zoomers yet, but for our millennial readers rest assured you can play a take customized to your interests. Instead of buying up property in Atlantic City – because who can afford that in this economy – the spaces you land on represent Instagrammable vacation destinations and life experiences. OK, boomer. Who can say which mentality is actually healthier, though?

No, you’re not getting 25 full-sized Funko Pops in a massive box here – that would be simply absurd. The Avengers are the reason for the season, and every day you’ll be able to crack a box and release one of Earth’s mightiest heroes (and an occasional villain) from advent calendar imprisonment. One of the more interesting lines we saw at Toy Fair this year were Hasbro’s new set of “Skywalker Saga” Star Wars figures. There’s an upcoming LEGO Star Wars game with the same title, but these aren’t brick-based construction sets. Instead, they’re new sculpts of some of the most iconic characters in the franchise, but instead of your normal pint job they’re all finished in gold. The rationale behind this is a complete mystery, but there’s no denying that they look really cool. They’re a Wal-Mart exclusive, so if you want them act fast.

Moto Kicks Hover Shoes
Sure, hoverboards are OK, but isn’t it time we pushed the envelope a little bit? Enter the Moto Kicks Hover Shoes, which take us one step closer to a totally motorized future. With a top speed of seven miles per hour, these aren’t going to replace your car any time soon, but there’s something very satisfying about gliding along smooth surfaces and leaning to accelerate, brake and turn. A maximum range of six miles between charges lets you wander far afield, and they’re light enough to easily carry. The shoes even come with a connector so you can use them like a standard hoverboard.
