Music Law Updates

The IPKat has just been admiring Music Law Updates, a website run by Charming Music Limited and edited by barrister Ben Challis with contributions from solicitors Jenna Bruce and Jamie Barnard, Jonathan Coad and Andrew Evans.

The site, which has archival material dating back to December 2002, contains not just obvious music law news but comments on cases from outside the normal range of music law sources but which have an impact on music law, such as Arsenal v Reed. Ben Challis acts as General Counsel for 3A Entertainments and is Executive Producer for television of the Glastonbury Festival, so he should know a fair bit about mud.

Ben can be contacted at musiclaw01@aol.com.

Miracle Cure for copyright infringement?

The latest developments in the saga of artist Ed Miracle's battle against the publishing industry, following an egregious outbreak of something apparently closely resembling copyright infringement, can be read in today's blog posted on Human Law by Justin Patten, Mr Miracle's UK lawyer.

It's going a bit quiet ...

Does anyone know if the following weblogs, which are of interest to intellectual property/infotech law enthusiasts, are still active?

* Strange Brand (nothing posted since 10 December 2005).

* Spicy IP from India (silent since 5 January 2006).

* From Bricks to Clicks (just one post since December 2005).

The IPKat hopes his IP blogging buddies are okay. He visits them sometimes for inspiration - and sometimes just to reassure himself that he's not alone.
