Buffet reception for lecture on starving artists

The IPKat's friend and scholar Professor Martin Kretschmer, of Bournemouth University, is giving his Inaugural Lecture down on the South Coast of England, at the University's Talbot Campus, Alsebrook Lecture Theatre, on 1 November 2006 at 6.30pm. The lecture is entitled "Escape from the Garret? Copyright and the Tale of the Starving Artist". By way of bait to tempt the prospective audience, Martin says:

"In 1841, Lord Macaulay claimed in a famous speech on copyright reform that there are only two ways in which creators can be remunerated: "One of those is patronage; the other is copyright." Unfortunately, he was wrong.".
