The tools of the future are here. Dropbox is an Internet application that uses cloud resources to sync files across computer systems. It is compatible with PC, Mac, Linux, and many smart phone devices. It keeps copies of select files on your machines and the cloud servers simultaneously, with the ability to undo saves and undo deletes!! It syncs automatically, and as far as I have seen there are no sync issues, as well as keeping all files local, so there are no download times either. This is a solid application, and employs SSL encryption during transfer and AES encryption on the cloud servers. The only thing it lacks is folder management features, such as restricted read/write privileges or sub-folder access controls. But for the cost (free, for up to 2 gigs of storage), you will have trouble finding a better solution. Whether for personal use, a small group, or a small business this is a great cloud-based solution for file transfer.
