Canon plans to launch Compact Mirrorless Camera

Canon is planning to launch a mirrorless camera model. Many of the rival companies are already working on such cameras. This mirrorless model from Canon is likely to feature many of the capabilities of an upmarket single-lens reflex camera in a more compact body. Sony, Canon's arch-rival, already has such a mirrorless camera in their pipeline.

Masaya Maeda, Head of the company's camera division, said, "An increase in capacity in Taiwan would bring the firm's production capacity for single-lens reflex cameras to 10 million units per year."
