Enlarge photos without losing quality in GIMP is very simple, just upload the image to be processed and menu (also contextual) go to Image -> Scale Image will open a dialog box in which we enter the size that we want to our pictures, and in the Quality section -> choose Sinc interpolation (Lanczos3) and click on Scala.

We just have to save the image in our favorite format from Menu -> Export As ....

Note also that the Sinc interpolation algorithm (Lanczos3) GIMP allows images of better quality compared to Adobe Photoshop Bicubic interpolation.
