New DeiTY Secretary to take Digital India, local manufacturing as priority
The newly-appointed IT Secretary, J. S. Deepak who has taken over the office on Monday said that the Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DeiTY) will focus on providing key e-government services to citizens across the country and give a push to electronic manufacturing under the “Make in India” campaign and promoting exports of domestically manufactured electronic hardware from India, thus bridging the export and import gap. The third area of priority would be to increase employment through strengthening the IT and the ITeS services, including development and export of software.
