DIY/Do It Yourself: Upgrade to the Latest Release

Requirements 7-Zip, NPP/Notepad++ or other text editor, PortableApps.com Launcher Generator/PAL, PortableApps.com Installer/PAI.

Get the latest portable app. template, and extract the content with 7-Zip.
Get the latest:
Open the installer with 7-Zip → double-click browser.7z → extract Browser-bin folder to YandexPortable\App folder,
Extract the windows-native-client.zip package to App\windows-native-client folder,
$Into App\windows-native-client$
Open the Flash Player portable package → browse into Pepper32 folder → extract pepflashplayer.dll to App\Browser-bin\plugins folder,
Browse to App\Browser-bin\18.1.1.839 folder and delete: service_update.exe and yupdate-exec.exe files.
Look up version in the App\Browser-bin folder,
Browse to YandexPortable\App\AppInfo and open appinfo.ini file with NPP. Replace the [Version] section with the latest version number. Make sure the PackageVersion entry is in 4 place digit, eg. 18.1.1.839,

Run PAL, paste the template folder address C:\0TEST\YandexPortable, and click Go—a new launcher will be created,
Test the new launchers by following this guide.
When all is OK, then delete the YandexPortable\Data folder and run PAI, paste the package folder address C:\0TEST\YandexPortable, and click Go—to create the installer package.
Use the installer package to upgrade your portable application. Don't forget to at least backup your Data folder before any upgrade :)
If you find any changes that's not handled by the launcher, consult the PAL help file to modify the launcher yourself or ask for our paid upgrade support.

Yandex Browser writes to Windows registry while running.
Flash player writes to Windows registry while running.
Windows native client for external download manager integration writes to Windows registry and data folder while running.
IE Tab addon—if installed—writes to Windows registry and data folders while running.
Make sure Yandex Browser portable exits cleanly before plugging out your thumbdrive.
