ISIS affiliate captures key town in Daraa

The ISIS affiliate “Liwaa Shahada Al-Yarmouk” has reportedly captured the important town of Taseel in the Dara’a Governorate’s western countryside after a violent battle with the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and Jabhat Al-Nusra (Syrian Al-Nusra) on Monday afternoon.

Liwaa Shahada Al-Yarmouk began the battle by the storming the rebel defenses in Taseel, prompting a violent firefight that would last for a couple hours before the Free Syrian Army and Jabhat Al-Nusra were forced to abandon their positions and retreat towards the city of Nawa.

Several rebel casualties were reported from this battle in Taseel, including the leader of Jabhat Al-Nusra “Abu Adham”.

The loss of Taseel could be devastating for the rebel forces in the long run, given the fact that it is close to both Sheikh Miskeen (government controlled) and Nawa (rebel controlled).
