Getting Started: Eat More Protein

Eat more protein with main meals and snacks

Reasons to eat more protein

Fat, carbs, and protein are all capable of quenching hunger, but protein is by far the most effective. You need much less of it than fats or carbs to achieve the same effect, plus it’s a lot healthier. Okay, so why is eating more protein such a big deal? Well, studies have shown that increasing your protein consumption can actually lead to you eating less calories overall, helping you lose weight. On top of this, protein can improve muscle mass, strengthen bones, lower blood pressure, boost metabolism, and improve your immune system.

Day 1 Secret

Eat eggs for breakfast, preferably scrambled or boiled.

Why it matters?

Eggs are one of the few foods that contain every type of protein, namely all 20 amino acids. We won’t go into too much detail about the individual aminos, but we will say that eating all 20 in one meal is immensely beneficial. Try to eat eggs for breakfast at least twice a week, scrambling or boiling to avoid using unhealthy fats. You will get roughly 6 grams of protein per egg (it’s recommended that adult men consume 56 grams of protein per day, and women consume 46 grams), so having three scrambled eggs in the morning gives you one third of the optimal daily dose.

Today we suggest trying: Salmon
